Has Been is Retconned's fourth album which finds Retconned exploring new territory. "Has Been" places Retconned firmly in the world of pop. While Retconned is there on his own terms, "Has Been" is a collection of thirteen songs that is highly modernized version of pluralist blues.
"Retconned - the musical cloak of Atlanta's Jonathan Lukens - showcases his penchant for stubbornly isolationist electronic tedium on his fourth album "has been". The Instrumentals are the most stimulating, revealing hidden details upon repeated listening, but the handful of vocal tracks approach marginally painful territory. Nods to the obvious (Brian Eno) and not so (one track is titled "Santo and Johnny", presumably in reference to the "Sleep Walk" composers) help clarify Luken's input and output. - Stomp And Stammer
